Organic Himalayan salt is manufactured from rock crystals mined in the Himalayas, frequently in Pakistan. Himalayan salt is pink in color and is made up of 98 percent sodium chloride. It may be used as a table salt addition, as well as for cooking, food preparation, and spa treatments. Calcium, potassium, magnesium, and iron are all higher in pink Himalayan salt than in conventional table salt.
